Egypt is today one of the worlds most popular holiday destinations. It has a population itself of over 60 million people which is swelled by the millions of tourists who visit each year. The country is divided by the River Nile, along which cruises are very popular. Many people combine a Nile cruise with a stay in either Luxor or the capital Cairo. The Suez Canal also cuts through Egypt and it is on the coast to the south of the Suez Canal where you will find some of the best beaches and coral reefs. Other popular attractions include the Pharaonic treasures and Alexandria. There is very little rainfall at anytime of the year, exceptions being on the coast sometimes. This combined with the very hot summers and mild winters help to make Egypt the popular year round destination that it is.
